Hilary Ferdinand Daffi, is a Tanzanian born professional hunter. He started conducting professional tourist hunting back in 1987 with Tanzania Wildlife Coporation. In 1988 he started hunting with Cotton Gordon of Cotton Gordon Safaris. Hilary Daffi hunted with Cotton Gordon in various hunting blocks in Tanzania to his retirement in 1999. Hilary Daffi Safaris was allocated a hunting concession by Tanzania Wildlife Division in early 2006 called Lake Chaya and thereafter operated several hunting safaris. Furthermore the company is allocated Rungwa west and Muhesi west hunting block in 2007 one of the best areas in the country. In his hunting professionalism Hilary Daffi is also the Master Measurer of Record Book Trophies Worldwide and hunted great trophies for the Tanzania State House. Nasera Safaris is named for a 250' high monolith that looms over a rarely-visited part of the Serengeti. Joseph and David have taken people to this region for many years and continue to marvel at the stunning beauty of the area. Having a picnic lunch in the shade of the great rock, under the large acacias, marveling at the fig trees that ooze from rocky folds and creases, is an experience that you won't soon forget. Occasionally there are Maasai herders in the area and there can be all kinds of game on the drives to and from the rock. Both the rock and the fig tree have some fame. In various stories and legends from the past the tree is called "the place where the man was killed" for inconclusive and often contradictory reasons. It is also used as an iconic signpost in the middle of seemingly endless grasslands. The rock has sheltered humans for at least 10,000 years and still might harbor wild dogs, Maasai herders, and even the rare, bone-breaking lamagier. There are two excellent and relevant books that mention the area: My Serengeti Years by Myles Turner and The Tree Where Man Was Born by Peter Matthiessen. Joseph Ndunguru was born and raised in Tanzania. He has worked more than thirty years studying and interpreting the wildlife of the country. Joseph has led safaris for the most important organizations (and for some of the the world's most important people) for more than twenty years. His sense of humor and encyclopedic knowledge make him a wonderful traveling companion. Prior to being a tour leader, Joseph worked for 16 years at Ngorongoro Crater in education and tourism. Born in the southern part of Tanzania (near Mbinga), Joseph was educated in Uganda.
